Here I have brought you down,
forgotten one, in such disgrace.
My thoughts reach out to me from the void that lives within.
No one knows;
your name is dust.
This is the fate of the wretched king.
Crush my will in frigid blackness
'til my soul is ground to dust.
Only then will black disorder
reign in me and hence the world.
I rend your flesh from bone;
now I wear
this crown that you did make.
Here I rise as destroyer
through the chaos of the void.
In the night my true sun rises;
I emerge reborn
And now I soar above,
my greatest purpose fulfilled.
I have become the unmaker:
I shall tear down the will of god!
Soaring through the black unknown,
nothing shall escape my gaze.
Come to me and be unmade.
You deserve to fall.
Chaos only guides my hand.
Oh! My form begins to fade.
Only will remains of me;
now how shall you thwart me?
Behold my scythe
with which I cut away
this profane and insane
confabulation of purpose.
Destroy the passages of time;
time is not real, but a machination
to create the illusion of will.
All exists all at once.
The mind is all; my mind is all
and you, you are nothing.
Now I shall take my leave.
Farewell you wretched god.
Ἡ εἰκών was an impressive debut, but way too short! Luckily, Ψευδομένη arrives to satisfy the urge for more of what made its precedessor hit hard and fast: some atmospheric moments (don't be deterred as this is still brutal, dissonant and disgusting to the core) and at the same time, J.L. is exploring longer tracks - e.g. my personal favourite - and implementing some cavernous lows. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's most likely that this man refuses to stand still. What a pace! David Fischer
